The Didactics of Science Subjects amidst Militancy Activities in Rural Niger Delta Region
Summary
Didactics is used in schools to analyze learning situations and to use theanalysis to determine and justify how teaching is conducted. A didacticevaluation of the teaching and learning of science subjects in thesecondary schools has been a challenge to educators in the Niger Deltaregion as a result of militancy. This paper examines didactic models inthe answering of the four didactic consideration questions of: what shouldbe taught; why should it be taught; how should it be taught; to whomshould it be taught. This is pertinent as the yardstick for the usability ofdidactic theory of knowledge is successful teaching; also this area hasonly been investigated to a limited extent, especially from difficultcircumstances like militancy.
