Abstract

The decrease in the number of enrolment and graduation of students in the
Department of Business Education (Office and Technology Management
Education option) in Nigerian Colleges of Education has been a major concern
for all stakeholders. This prompt the researcher to carry out this research to
ascertain the inconsistencies in the number of admissions and graduates in
the Business Education Departments, (Office and Technology Management
Education option) using the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti as case study.
Admissions in this department were looked into for a period of ten (10) years
(2008-2018). These were gotten via the Descriptive Survey design and data
was collected from existing record from the College. Causes of the decrease in
the rates were identified. The paper recommended possible solutions to the
low rates of applicants and graduates in the Department in focus.
