Abstract

Abstract

Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) are essential pillars for creating fair and supportive learningenvironments within higher education institutions. However, the integration of these values intosports and recreational activities remains limited. Self-determination theory was adopted for thissturdy. This position paper argues that dance exercise programme when designed through thecombined perspectives of exercise physiology and sports administration offer a sustainable andinclusive approach to fostering participation, wellness, and social cohesion among students andstaff. It highlights the physiological benefits of dance exercise, explores administrative strategiesfor inclusive programme management, and presents evidence-based recommendations forembedding EDI principles into campus recreation. The paper advocates for institutional leadershipto prioritize inclusive dance exercise programme as a means for health promotion, culturalexchange, and equitable engagement across all demographics.
