Abstract

The study assessed correlate of available facilities and secondary school students in 
Osun State and also to find out the effects of available facilities in secondary schools on 
students academic performance. Two research questions and two hypotheses were 
generated for the study. The study focused on students and teachers of selected 
secondary schools in Osun state. Samples of 60 students from senior secondary one, 50 
students from senior secondary school two and 65 from senior secondary three making a 
total of 175 students and seventy five (75) teachers making a total of two hundred and fifty 
(250) respondents were sampled. A structured questionnaire titled ?correlate of available 
facilities and secondary school students‘academic performance in Osun state‘was duly 
validated and used for data collection. Data collected through the research instruments 
were analyzed using descriptive analysis of frequency counts and its percentages. The 
hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance.The study recommended that: quality 
and functional facilities should be made available at our secondary schools in order to 
enhance the academic performance of secondary school students in Osun state. 
Education authorities in the state and stakeholders in the education sector should provide 
non available ones among school facilities in order to boost students‘ performance.
