Abstract

In the world today, women’s issues dominate discussions in many areas of life like economics, politics
and labour. Women’s roles in many aspects of life are being re-examined. Gender issues have succeeded
to a larger extent in creating awareness of the oppression of women. It has helped to check a great degree
of these oppressions. As a literary theory, feminism is contributing its quota in shaping knowledge about
women and gender roles cross culturally. This work adopted Threefold pattern theory of gender because
women have proven beyond reasonable doubt that they are not inferior to men but help mate and should
treat equally with men. The work did not limit to biblical achievement the women made both in the Old
and New Testament but equally discussed what women have achieved in this 21st century in various
field of lives such as education, economics, politics and in religious matters the work concludes that
women should give more opportunity to use their God giving talents and recommends that in this era of
industrial revolutions women should allow to be fully participated in all aspect of lives that can bring
progress and development to the world at large.
